Please note that the schedule below is from 2025. We plan to have an updated schedule for Family Weekend 2026 posted here by the summer of 2026 (no later than mid-July). The schedule is expected to look fairly similar to the one below.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2025

Check-In | 9 AM - 5 PM | Damen Den, Damen Student Center  

When you arrive on campus, please pick up your Family Weekend wristbands to gain access to Family Weekend activities. Tickets for the Saturday evening Big Bus Tours will be available at the Check-In area while supplies last. If you are interested in Big Bus Tour tickets, please be present at Check-In with everyone in your family who is registered for Family Weekend. Online registration will be available until Thursday, September 25. As long as space remains, we plan to have on-site registration available on Saturday, September 27 until 1:00pm. Staff will be available in the Damen Den until 5 pm to welcome guests who are checking in, and to answer questions. 

Climbing Wall | 9 AM – Noon | Halas Recreation Center  

The Rock Wall will be open for families to climb. Staff will be available to assist climbers. Families who wish to use the climbing wall should bring comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Children must be 12 years or older to participate.  

Group Fitness Indoor Cycle Classes | 9 - 9:50 AM and 10 - 10:50 AM | Halas Recreation Center 

Take a morning group fitness class from one of our nationally certified student instructors! Classes will fill on a first-come-first-serve basis and are subject to capacity. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the class start time to complete a waiver at our front desk. Children must be 12 years or older to participate. 

Java with the Jesuits | 10 AM – 12 PM | Ignatius House 

The Jesuit Community invites you to join them for an Open House with coffee, tea, pastries, and good conversation. 

Family Weekend Welcome | 12 - 12:30 PM | Gentile Arena

You are invited to join us in Gentile Arena where university leaders, coaches, LU Wolf, the band, and spirit team will welcome families to campus for this wonderful weekend! Doors will open prior to noon. Seats will be reserved at the front for guests who wish to sit closer to the ASL interpreter. 

Family Weekend BBQ Lunch | 12:30 - 1:30 PM | Quad (rain location Damen Student Center) 

Join us for lunch on the quad. A balloon artist, magician, and caricature artist will be present. Tables and chairs will be provided in the quad, and families are also welcome to bring their plates to find indoor seating options in the buildings, such as in the Damen Student Center. 

Self-Guided Campus Tours | 2 - 4 PM 

Families and their students can visit some of our favorite places on the Lake Shore Campus through an "open house" approach. We have identified a number of wonderful places that we recommend seeing, which are listed on the Self-Guided Tour webpage. Places include the Wolf and Kettle statue, the Information Commons, and the School of Sustainability’s greenhouse and biodiesel lab.   

Loyola Project Documentary | 2 PM & 4 PM Showings | Damen Cinema 

In 1963, at the height of the civil rights movement, the Loyola Chicago Ramblers broke racial barriers on their way to a national championship. Now, nearly 60 years later, this legendary team is reexamined by Loyola basketball player and co-captain, Lucas Williamson. Woven together with archival footage and modern day interviews, this captivating story is surprisingly relevant to today's continued struggle for equality. The 90-minute documentary will be shown once at 2 PM and again at 4 PM. 

Parent & Family Social Networking Event | 2:00 – 3:00 PM | Damen Student Center Den

Staff and members of the Parent & Family Advisory Council will host a space for parents and family members of current students to meet, and engage in conversation. 

Men’s Soccer vs. George Mason University | 3 PM | Loyola Soccer Park 

Cheer on the men’s soccer team when the Ramblers take on George Mason University! Family Weekend attendees get free access to the game by showing their Family Weekend wristbands. Free shuttle transportation will be provided for Family Weekend guests. Throughout the game, shuttles will make a continuous loop between the Damen statue (by the main parking garage) and Loyola Soccer Park, starting at 2pm. For fans who wish to travel on their own, Loyola Soccer Park is located a mile west of campus at 6336 N. Hoyne Avenue. Free parking is available.   

Big Bus Tours | 5 PM or 7:30 PM | Meet at the Fr. Damen Statue   

Big Bus Tours is the largest operator of open-top sightseeing bus tours in the world. Enjoy a ride on an open-top, double-decker bus with an optional audio guide highlighting Chicago’s history, culture and architecture among downtown’s most popular sites. Tickets are available at Check-in, while supplies last, and boarding begins 30 minutes prior to departure. Be prepared for wind and cooler temperatures if seated on the upper level. 

Visit Ireland’s Bar | 5 - 9 PM | Damen Student Center Lower Level

Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase at Ireland's, a bar that is run by students. Ireland's serves as a special gathering place for the Loyola community, as well as an excellent opportunity for students to gain business experience. Feel free to stop by to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and spend time with Rambler families. 

Una Noche de Encanto | 7:30 - 9:00 PM*

*Please note that the Una Noche de Encanto event requires a separate ticket purchase and tickets are now sold out. Standby tickets will be available at the Box Office 1 hour prior to the start of each performance. This award-winning musical program seamlessly merges classical opera arias, piano, mariachi, and bolero traditions in a breathtaking celebration of Latine Heritage Month featuring the Loyola Symphony Orchestra, University Chorale, University Singers, local youth Mariachi performers, and special guest artists.  

Family Movie | 8 PM | Damen Cinema 

The Department of Programming will host a showing of the movie Superman (2025) in our cinema, with popcorn provided. 

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2025

Sunday Mass (Liturgies) | 9 - 10 AM, 10:30 - 11:30 AM | Madonna della Strada Chapel 

Enjoy the celebration of the Eucharist in the beautiful chapel on Lake Shore Campus. 

Group Fitness Classes | Halas Recreation Center 

Take a morning group fitness class from one of our nationally certified student instructors! Choose between a relaxing yoga flow or an energetic, indoor cycling class! Classes will fill on a first-come-first-serve basis and are subject to capacity. Yoga mats are provided. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the class start time to complete a waiver at our front desk. Children must be 12 years or older to participate. Class options are Yoga from 10:00-10:50 AM, and LUCycle (Indoor Cycle) from 11:00-11:50 AM.

Family Brunch | 10 AM – 1 PM | Damen Dining Hall 

Enjoy traditional brunch favorites. Family Weekend guests and LUC students who do not have unlimited meal plans can show their Family Weekend wristband at the entrance to the Damen Dining Hall, and students who have unlimited meal plans can use them. The Damen Dining Hall serves products made without nuts and has options available for other special diet restrictions and food allergies. 

Jewish Family and Friends Brunch | 10 AM - 12:30 PM | Campus Ministry Suite 217, Damen Student Center

Hillel at Loyola invites Jewish Family and Friends to connect over warm conversation and delicious brunch. This event is open to all Loyola University Chicago students, faculty, staff, and friends regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic. 

Tour of the Madonna della Strada Chapel | 12 - 1 PM | Meet at the Back of the Chapel, near the Baptismal Font

Students and their families are invited to learn about the architecture, art, and symbolism of Madonna della Strada Chapel. Our tour will also include a behind the scenes look at the chapel crypt along with a demonstration of our majestic pipe organ. 

Bookstore 

The LUC bookstore on Sheridan Road and the L-Stop store in Damen Student Center will be open on Saturday from 9 AM - 4 PM and on Sunday from 10 AM - 3 PM. Coupons will be available at Check-in on Saturday.
